Raise your hand if you want to get involved...

Get Involved

OHDSI Europe brings together researchers, clinicians, data custodians, regulators and industry partners who want to generate better evidence from real‑world data. There are many ways to participate – whether you are completely new to OHDSI or already working with the OMOP Common Data Model.

How you can get involved

1. Community Meetings

Take part in our regular online and in‑person meetings. Here we share project updates, showcase methods and tools, and discuss new ideas for European collaboration.

  • Listen to presentations from ongoing studies
  • Present your own work and receive feedback
  • Meet people facing similar data and research challenges

Typical audience: data scientists, epidemiologists, clinicians, PhD students, industry and regulatory partners.

2. Working Groups & Study-a-thons

Contribute your expertise to focused working groups or short, intensive study‑a‑thons.

  • Help design and run OHDSI studies on real‑world evidence
  • Work on methodological questions and open‑source tools
  • Collaborate with colleagues from different countries and data sources

You don’t need to bring data yourself to contribute – skills in clinical medicine, statistics, informatics, software development, or project coordination are all welcome.

3. Education & Training

Build your skills in observational health data science.

  • Introductory sessions on OHDSI and the OMOP Common Data Model
  • Hands‑on workshops on tools such as ATLAS and HADES
  • Tutorials during the OHDSI Europe Symposium and national events

These activities are suitable for both newcomers and experienced users who want to deepen their knowledge.

4. Contribute to Open Source

OHDSI is an open‑source ecosystem. You can:

  • Report issues or suggest enhancements
  • Contribute code, documentation, or translations
  • Share reusable study packages and phenotypes

All development is done in the open on GitHub, following OHDSI community guidelines.

5. Share Data & Build Networks

If you manage or have access to healthcare data, you can explore:

  • Mapping your data to the OMOP Common Data Model
  • Joining distributed network studies, where analyses run locally and only aggregated results are shared
  • Connecting with other data partners facing similar technical and governance questions

We can help you learn from experiences elsewhere in Europe and connect you to the right expertise.

Who can join?

Everyone with an interest in observational health data and real‑world evidence is welcome, including:

  • Researchers and students
  • Clinicians and healthcare professionals
  • Data custodians and IT specialists
  • Regulatory and HTA experts
  • Industry partners and non‑profit organisations

There is no membership fee; participation is based on openness, collaboration, and shared learning.
